A cozy place to call my own. I've tried blogging on other sites, you know, those "Social Networking" sites, but there is too much other stuff going on.

A Blast from the Past

I wanted a place to blog about my son's adventures at boot camp, so I joined MySpace. That way, his friends could keep up to date on what he was doing without having to actually interact with his Mom. (How uncool is that for teenagers??) Well, after becoming friends with lots of people, many of whom I don't actually know, and tired of massive amounts of junk, I eventually gave up on the MySpace blog after he completed boot camp and some additional training.

Many months passed, and again I desired to write a blog. This time, not for any specific reason, just a place to purge my thoughts. My spouse showed me a site he set up, so I copied by setting up Rebada's Realm, my own Blog. Many years ago, a short time after meeting my husband, I had a website up called "Rebada's Realm". I have long wanted to recreate that page, but never got around to it. Still having a desire to write, and be creative, I now have this page.

After giving up on MySpace, I had little social interaction on the "net" other than chatting with established friends via Google Talk. Then I started getting invited to some networking sites. I think the first was Plaxo, then FaceBook.

Well, HELLO FACEBOOK! I have been on FaceBook since July 2008, and after a dry first couple of months, I have many friends, and have recently begun reconnecting with friends from high school. What a blast from the past!

I have not been to any of my high school reunions, so it is really fun to connect with these former childhood friends to see what they have done in life since graduation. Some are married, some are not. Some have kids, some do not. Some still live locally, some have moved away. Whatever the differences or similarities, it is just so much fun catching up with folks!

I suspect we will be having another reunion soon....probably next year. I think perhaps I will plan to attend that one.
